A stroke can affect balance, coordination, strength, and movement on one side of the body. Our physiotherapists understand how important early, targeted rehabilitation is to recovery. We use evidence-based techniques to help retrain movement patterns, improve walking, and regain functional independence.

Treatment may include task-specific exercises, balance and gait retraining, neuromuscular stimulation and advice for posture and positioning. We also support family members and carers, providing education and practical strategies to make home life easier and safer.

Our goal is to help you move better, regain confidence, and return to the activities that are meaningful to you. Whether you are in the early stages of recovery or working on long-term improvement, we’ll tailor a programme to suit your needs.

We also work with people living with long-term neurological conditions such as MS and Parkinson’s disease. These conditions can cause fatigue, stiffness, and changes in mobility over time. Physiotherapy helps to maintain flexibility, strength and balance, manage symptoms, and reduce the risk of falls.

Our physiotherapists will assess your current level of function and design a programme that may include stretching, strengthening, balance work, and movement retraining. We focus on maintaining independence, improving walking and coordination, and helping you manage your condition confidently.

Regular physiotherapy input can make a significant difference to long-term health and quality of life by slowing the decline in mobility and promoting physical activity safely.

Peripheral neuropathies, such as diabetic neuropathy and neuropathies related to vasculitis, can cause pain, weakness and altered sensation in the limbs. The management principles are similar to other neurological conditions – improving strength, balance, and coordination while reducing pain and preventing further loss of function.

We focus on gentle, progressive exercise therapy, balance training, and education about foot care, posture and activity modification. Our aim is to help you stay active and maintain mobility while managing the symptoms of nerve damage effectively.
